The man born blind in chapter 9 of John’s gospel isn’t going to be intimidated by the Pharisees. Rather, he relies on his own experience. “I do not know whether he [Jesus] is a sinner,” he says. “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see” (9:25).
