Praying Around the World – Thy Kingdom Come

What would happen if thousands of people, in languages and cultures around the world, prayed for others to come to know Jesus Christ? From May 10 to May 20, 2018 (Ascension to Pentecost), Christians everywhere will join in Thy Kingdom Come, an international and ecumenical global call to prayer.

Thy Kingdom Come is an invitation from the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Justin Welby, that started in 2016; now people in 85 countries will come together in prayer for 11 days to strengthen their own lives in Christ and to pray that the world will come to know Him.

Add your light to the global map by pledging to pray at Pledge 2 Pray.

Then find resources for ways you, your church, and your family can carry out your commitment with daily scripture, Morning and Evening Prayer, a prayer journal, and dozens more suggestions at www.thykingdomcome.global.

As we approach May 10, we will be posting videos, images, links to resources, and suggestions for engaging Thy Kingdom Come.

Plan now to pray from May 10 to 20. For more information email to marjorie.george@dwtx.org.

Lenten Prayer Journals

The Lenten series “Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John,” begins on Sunday, February 11.  A beautiful journal has been produced to accompany the six-week program of daily videos from the Society of St. John the Evangelist (SSJE). The journal can be purchased individually or in packs of ten on Amazon. You can also download printable versions from the website (including a large-print edition).

Also on the Meeting Jesus in John site are several resources for small groups and congregations, including facilitator guides.

Many around the Diocese of West Texas will engage the study which promises to give us a brief daily respite from the busyness of our lives.  If you have questions, email to marjorie.george@dwtx.org.
