Watch and Pray is a four-week study created for Advent 2014. It explores the lectionary readings for the four Sundays in Advent – the Old Testament, New Testament and Gospel readings – in 2014.
Each week focuses on a particular aspect of that Sunday’s readings, and the material for each week includes
◾Audio readings of the scripture by members of a selected congregation
◾A brief introduction to the week
◾Links to a page for each day of the week that contains a reflection of a particular piece of scripture from the readings, prayers for lighting the Advent candle (if you choose to use one), and questions for your personal reflection
◾A brief candle-lighting liturgy if you choose to use an Advent candle.
All of the material is also available in PDF format and in written or audio format.
We encourage you to use this study in whatever format suits you, both individually and as a group. You may read the study online, print it out, or listen to the audio.
