Epiphany 2016 – God Claims Us All, Introduction

Introduction to the study:

In the season of Epiphany, which extends from January 6 until the day before Ash Wednesday, we come to the full understanding that God’s incarnation in Christ is for all people and that God calls each of us in a variety of ways and contexts throughout the course of our lives. Thus, the title for this study: God Claims Us All.

During the five weeks of Epiphany 2016, we will explore closely what it means to be “called” by God and to employ the gifts he has given each us for the building up of his Kingdom.

The study will include biblical passages, short commentaries on the passages, and questions for reflection.

On Sundays we will post an introduction to the theme of that week’s study, along with a recorded interview with a resident of the diocese who is living out his or her “call” from God. During the week there will be  daily reflections on Monday through Friday in both audio and written format.

Posts from this site each Sunday evening will alert subscribers that the coming week’s study is available.  Authors of the study are the Rev. Drs. John Lewis and Jane Patterson.
